how it began...         

" As a sixteen-year-old who had recently given my life to Christ, I sat in my mother's living room one night  watching music videos on TV. Gradually, with each video I watched - and each girl I saw degraded- I began to grieve tremendously in my heart. Grieve for their spirits. Grieve for their lost of identity. Grieve for them. I found myself weeping uncontollably for each young woman, and completely lost all sense of where I was. Once I realized what had happened, I cleaned my face up, and entered prayer for each young woman I'd seen. It was then that I believe the burden for  my generation of young sisters was awakened in me, and God spoke to me my assignment to minister to teen and young adult women. Three years later, as a college student, I stepped out on this burden  and established the More Than a Pretty Face After-School Mentoring Program. From there...hosted events, virtual resources, faith-based mentoring and workshops! The ministry virtually established  itself through a passion to reach young girls.... and the rest is history!"
